When I play my upright live, I mic the bass in allmost every situation. I use an "AMT S25B" or a "Audio Technica ATM35". I blend the mic-signal with the pick-up (Realist).
This gives me a punchy sound and a lot of tone trough my Amp and the PA.

Basses:

My upright is an old bass from Czechoslovakia. I play the Velvet: Anima strings
- just love the sound.

I just bought the Yamaha Silent bass. I use it a lot when i play with Malene Mortensen, - works great with Malene's music. And it's so easy to travel with.

I have quite a few electric basses – Like to pick up a bass and a sound that fits the music:

'72 Fender Jazz Bass
’77 Fender Jazz Bass (maple neck)
'77 Fender Precision Bass (maple neck)
’78 Fender Precision Bass (maple neck)
’79 Fender Telecaster Bass (maple neck)
