A fantastic groove, strong beat and big sound is what characterizes the bass playing of Morten Ankarfeldt. He’s a dedicated and a committed sideman with great skills to back up the soloist. His fabulous time holds the rhythmsection together as one unit. As a bass player involved in many different projects, he covers various stiles such as: Straight-ahead and modern jazz, fusion, funk, Brazilian, pop, blues, folk etc.

“At the age of 8 I got my first guitar, - a very small one. I played the guitar for many years and grew up attending a very music orientated private school “Rørvig Friskole”.
In high school I picked up the bass and after half a year at “Den Rytmiske Højskole” I knew that this was what I wanted to do.
In 1998 I applied The Rhythmic Conservatory in Copenhagen and graduated 5 years later.
Through out my time at the Conservatory and during several trips the New York City I studied a.o. NHØP, Rufus Ried, Eric Rives, Jesper Bodilsen, Kasper Vadsholt, Ben Street, Ed Thigpen, David Liebman”.
